Hi Olivia, I wanted to thank you again for all your help with our guatemala trip... it was absolutely amazing. As briefly discussed, I am going to Nicaragua over new years, and was hoping you could help me organize a few things.

Thanks so much! Your driver Elias was absolutely wonderful, on time and very kind! I appreciate your company's awesome communication and reliability! Two of the hotels we stayed at write your company's name down as well as they were impressed w your reliability and willingness to pick us up on the mountain at earthlodge! Thanks so much !!

My travel in Guatemala, Mexico & Belize through Marvelus travel was really great. When I made the booking, I felt quite confused to begin with. I thought how can it be that I can start the tour wherever I want & whenever I want? How many tour groups do they have? I wondered. And then I learnt that I would be travelling on buses & minivans with others, but that it wasn't a tour group as such. The people I met one day could be different to people I would travel with the next day. This was great for someone like me, who didn't really want to get locked in with the same people for 22 days. I had thought if I got on with the others, that would be great, but what if there wasn't simpatico? During the journey, I met several people on a day's journey who I sometimes met up with again. There were some great connections being travellers in places where we had not been before. Others often helped me in conversations, as my Spanish was picito. Marvelus has such a great system allowing the traveller to start when & where they want, plus making the journey adaptable with opportunities to remain in places longer, provided there is a day's notice given. English can be limited or even non-existent by some locals, be it drivers, people in hotels, or in shops. One thing I learnt was to write down bookings & bus numbers etc. as soon as you get them from Marvelus. Never assume that tomorrow, email will be accessible when you need the information. Central America can be unpredictable with technology. As for price, Marvelus was much more economical than the tours I saw advertised back in Australia. Most of the entries to parks etc. were included in the price, but all that is made clear when the itinerary is developed with them. Many meals you pay your own way, but there are many places that are economical in this part of the world. In my future travel to Central America, I will probably book my buses & minivans through Marvelus as their prices are compatible to other local travel groups. But for a first visit, it is so much smarter to let Marvelus manage the bookings of accommodation & travel, as they have so much experience & knowledge of the region. All of the accommodation was good and some was really nice, but my advice to anyone travelling here, is be open & adaptable. You will have such a great time. Be careful not to show off anything too fancy like cameras etc. as some places have much poverty and therefore crime, but to not see this beautiful & magical part of the world is a major mistake. Many people avoid Guatemala City, but I loved it. Much poverty, but staying to the main streets during the day was all fine. The area of Lanquin is beautiful but I did find the water cave activity quite challenging. It was a test. My most favourite spots, and there were many would be Panajachal(where Marvelus have their office) and the villages of Lake Atitlan, Antigua, Palenque, Merida, Tulum & the grand Cenote, Belize City for New Year's Eve! And Tikal, staying at Flores, such a brilliant area. You will meet so many friendly people on your journey, both locals & tourists. Thanks Olivia & Daniel for organising an unforgettable trip J

We have arrived home on 6th of April and we are OK ! The tour was perfect, we enjoyed every moment. The tour guide was very good, polite ,friendly and excellent driver. The car was not minivan as reserved but it was OK no complains. The itinerary was balanced and we have succeeded to do everything on time. All hotels were very good but the included dinner was limited for special menu. Thank you for organizing our tour it was wonderful time for us.

We want to tell you what a wonderful time we had in Guatemala during the days Dec 27, 2009-Jan 4, 2010. Our daughter, Allison Krogstad had talked to you to get help in making arrangements for travel in Guatemala. You did a terrific job and sent such great people to be our guides and drivers. They were all very professional and pleasant...particularly Edyn Mendez who met us in Flores and toured with us in Tikal. What an intelligent and well-informed young man. His knowledge of the ruins at Tikal were outstanding. And he was so patient (we had 3 little ones 7 and under in age!!!). Mario was also a wonderful driver...taking us from Flores to Tikal.

And Pedro who drove us from Camino Real to Flores was another young man who went above and beyond to help us enjoy the area. Since we had some time before our flight, he took us into Flores and showed us the area. Very nice young man.

Ernesto was also a great driver, getting us through Guatemala City during rush hour on our way to Antigua.

From Antigua to Panajachel we had Edwin who also made our drive very pleasant...stopping at an overlook for pictures, too.

Our boat trip to San Juan and Santiago was also fantastic with Juan being a most informative guide (and with the rough waters near San Juan, we were happy to see we had a very experienced boat driver! Another Juan! Great job!). Another special person was Victor Raul who we had twice during our time in Guatemala. He was such an exceptionally happy individual. When he returned to drive us from Panajachel to Guatemala City we were pleasantly surprised.

Adding to the wonderful staff were your choices of hotels. They were all clean and spacious and in wonderful locations for seeing what we wanted to see.

Your organization skills were wonderful...planning just enough time everywhere to enjoy what we were seeing. All your drivers were prompt, professional, courteous, clean, and friendly. It made our trip flow so easily with no rushing.

And we so enjoyed visiting with the Mayan family "Cuc" in San Jorge. Please send them our regards. We wish them well.

Thanks so much for making our trip perfect. We felt very comfortable with your entire staff and if we missed someone, I apologize. Your staff is a great tribute to your skills in management. We have already recommended you to friends who are hoping to go to Costa Rica sometime next year.

Thank you for all the help you have given me. The customer service of Marvelus has been excellent. I'm continuing my travels in central america on my own now as I think it will do me good to get practice of travelling around without anybody organising things for me.
